LLDP configuration procedures

Specifying a user description for LLDP
To specify a user description for LLDP, perform the following steps from the global LLDP
configuration mode:
Enabling and disabling the receiving and transmitting of LLDP packets
By default both transmit and receive for LLDP packets is enabled. To enable or disable the
receiving and transmitting of LLDP packets, perform the following steps from the global LLDP
configuration mode:
Configuring the transmit frequency of LLDP packets
To configure the transmit frequency of LLDP packets, perform the following steps from the global
LLDP configuration mode:
Step Task Command
1. Specify a user description for LLDP. This
description is for network administrative
purposes and is not seen by neighboring
switches.
switch(conf-lldp)#description LINE
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp
[interface | neighbors | statistics]
Step Task Command
1. Enable only receiving of LLDP packets. switch(conf-lldp)#mode rx
Enable only transmitting of LLDP packets. switch(conf-lldp)#mode tx
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp
[interface | neighbors | statistics]
Step Task Command
1. Configure the transmit frequency of LLDP
packets. The range is 4 to 180 seconds. The
default is 30 seconds.
switch(conf-lldp)#hello seconds
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp
[interface | neighbors | statistics]
