Configuring the hold time for receiving devices
To configure the hold time for receiving devices, perform the following steps from the global LLDP
configuration mode:
Configuring the advertisement of optional LLDP TLVs
To configure the optional LLDP TLVs to be advertised, perform the following steps from the global
LLDP configuration mode:
Configuring the advertisement of LLDP DCBX -related TLVs
To configure the LLDP DCBX-related TLVs to be advertised, perform the following steps from the
global LLDP configuration mode:
Step Task Command
1. Configure the hold time for receiving devices. This
configures the number of consecutive LLDP hello
packets that can be missed before declaring the
neighbor information as invalid. The range is 1 to
10. The default is 4.
switch(conf-lldp)#multiplier value
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp
[interface | neighbors | statistics]
Step Task Command
1. Configure the optional LLDP TLVs to be
advertised. If the advertise optional-tlv command
is entered without keywords, all optional LLDP
TLVs are advertised.
switch(conf-lldp)#advertise
optional-tlv {port-description |
system-name | system-capabilities |
system-description |
management-address}
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp
[interface | neighbors | statistics]
Step Task Command
1. Configure the LLDP DCBX-related TLVs to be
advertised. By default, the dcbx-tlv is advertised;
the dot1-tlv, dot3-tlv, dcbx-fcoe-app-tlv, and
dcbx-fcoe-logical-link-tlv are not advertised.
switch(conf-lldp)#advertise
{dcbx-fcoe-app-tlv |
dcbx-fcoe-logical-link-tlv | dcbx-tlv
| dot1-tlv | dot3-tlv}
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp
[interface | neighbors | statistics]
