VLAN configuration procedures
3
To configure the interface as a trunk interface, perform the following steps from Privileged EXEC
mode:
5. Specify a VLAN interface as the non-trunking
default access interface associated with the CEE
interface (VLAN 20 is used in this example).
switch(conf-if-te-0/1)#switchport
access vlan 20
switch(conf-if-te-0/1)#
6. Display the CEE interface configuration. switch(conf-if-vl-10)#do show
interface tengigabitethernet 0/1
Step Task Command
1. Enter global configuration mode. switch#config t
Enter configuration commands, one per
line. End with CNTL/Z.
switch(config)#
2. Specify the CEE interface (interface 0/10 is
used in this example).
switch(config)#interface
tengigabitethernet 0/10
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#
3. Enable the CEE interface. switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#no shutdown
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#
4. Configure the CEE interface as a Layer 2
switch port. By default, after an interface is
configured as a Layer 2 switch port it is in
access mode.
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#switchport
5. Place the CEE interface into trunk mode. switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#switchport mode
trunk
6. Specify that a single VLAN interface be allowed
to transmit/receive through the CEE interface
(VLAN 30 is used in this example).
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#switchport trunk
allowed vlan add 30
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#
Specify that all VLAN interfaces be allowed to
transmit/receive through the CEE interface.
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#switchport trunk
allowed vlan all
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#
Specify that all VLAN interfaces, except the
specified VLAN, be allowed to transmit/receive
through the CEE interface (VLAN 11 is used in
this example).
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#switchport trunk
allowed vlan except 11
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#
Specify that no VLAN interfaces be allowed to
transmit/receive through the CEE interface.
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#switchport trunk
allowed vlan none
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#
Remove a VLAN from the list of VLANs allowed
to transmit/receive through the CEE interface
(VLAN 11 is used in this example).
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#switchport trunk
allowed vlan remove 11
switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#
7. Display the CEE interface configuration. switch(conf-if-te-0/10)#do show
interface tengigabitethernet 0/10
