For a 5400zl Switch: Check the Software Version Before Using the Switch zl Power
Supply Shelf
Ensure that the 5400zl switch is running software version K.12.01 or greater.
To Determine the Current Software Version in a Switch. Use any of the following methods to view
the software version:
■ Start a console session with the switch. In the console login screen (the first screen displayed), the
Firmware revision line under the switch name shows the software version.
■ If you already have a console session going, at the prompt enter the show version command. The
resulting display lists the current software version.
■ In the web browser interface, click on the Identity tab. The current software version is listed as the
revision number in the Version line.
Update the 5400zl Switch Software If Necessary
If the 5400zl switch is running a software version earlier than K.12.01, you must update the software
in the switch before you will be able to use the complete capabilities of your new power supply.
To access the latest software updates, go to the software releases
page at www.hp.com/networking/
support. Auto Search on your switch model and then select Software downloads.
