HP 3PAR CIM API Programming Reference (OS 3.1.2 MU2) (QL226-97015, June 2013)

For detailed information regarding the FC Target Ports subprofile, refer to SMI-S at http://
www.snia.org.
FC Target Ports Subprofile CIM Classes
Table 79 FC Target Ports Subprofile CIM Classes
DescriptionClass
The storage array on which the target ports reside.TPD_StorageSystem
A SCSI transport endpoint. In this context, this represents
a target port on the HP 3PAR Storage System.
TPD_SCSIProtocolFCEndpoint
A Fibre Channel Port residing on the
TPD_ComputerSystem.
TPD_FCPort
Represents the SCSI view of ports as seen by SCSI initiators.TPD_SCSIController
Supported Methods

DescriptionMethod
Provides the ability to set owner and contact information
for the StorageSystem.

FCoE Target Port
CNA card installed on an a storage system contains ports that can either be configured as FCoE
or iSCSI. Here are the extra CIM classes that model the FCoE port:
Table 81 FCoE Target Port
DescriptionClass
The underlying ethernet port on the CNA cardTPD_EthernetPort
Association between the TPD_EthernetPort and the
TPD_FCPort class of the FCoE port
TPD_FCPortEthernetPortDependency
FCPortStatistics class of the FCoE portTPD_FCPortLESBStatistics
Association between the TPD_FCPortLESBStatistics and the
TPD_FCPort class of the FCoE port
TPD_FCPortLESBElementStatisticalData
FCoE port can only be used in a target role and not in an initiator role. CNA port configured as
iSCSI is modeled in exactly the same way as iSCSI target port.
Distinctions between FC and FCoE Port
FCoE port behaves exactly like an FC target port, but here are two key differences:
1. TPD_FCPort of an FCoE port has an extra TPD_FCPortEthernetPortDependency association
with a TPD_EthernetPort.
2. TPD_FCPort.PortDiscriminator property has a value of 10 (FCoE) for FCoE port and 2 (Not
Applicable) for FC port.
FC Initiator Ports Subprofile
The FC Initiator Ports subprofile models Fibre Channel specific aspects of a storage system. This
subprofile provides information about the backend Fibre Channel ports that are used to connect
to the storage system controller nodes to backend Disk Enclosures (Drive Cages).
For detailed information regarding the FC Target Ports subprofile, refer to SMI-S at www.snia.org.
