Using a Web Browser to Access Online Help and Event Messages
Recovery Manager for Oracle supports the latest versions of Firefox. If the Recovery Manager for
Oracle GUI is unable to launch online help or event messages in Firefox, it attempts to launch your
system’s default browser.
If the Recovery Manager for Oracle GUI is unable to launch a browser, it prompts you to install
Firefox as follows:

3.6.25 or laterAIX
To verify that the Recovery Manager for Oracle GUI can launch the installed browser, launch the
browser from the command line prompt you use to launch the Recovery Manager for Oracle GUI.

The following sections provide additional information about the display elements of the Recovery
Manager for Oracle GUI.
RAC Databases
Recovery Manager for Oracle GUI displays information for all RAC database instances. When an
operation is performed on one RAC instance, the navigation tree is refreshed to update all
corresponding RAC instances.
Standby Databases
Standby databases are displayed in the Recovery Manager for Oracle navigation tree with a red
dot in front of their database icons.
