Citrix XenServer provides the following methods for removing virtual volumes and storage
repositories:
• Method 1—Detach
• Method 2—Forget
• Method 3—Destroy
After removing the storage volume from the host, remove the VLUN from the HP 3PAR StoreServ
Storage by issuing removevlun <VVname> <LUN> <host>.
# removevlun testvlun 0 Citrixhost
WARNING! While removing the device, make sure the correct underlying device is used. Verify
that the SCSI ID display from Citrix XenServer to identify the underlying device.
NOTE: The removed SCSI device is updated in /proc/scsi/scsi, /proc/partitions,
and /sys/block path.
Citrix XenCenter
Citrix XenCenter provides the following methods for removing virtual volumes and storage
repositories:
• Method 1—Detach
• Method 2—Forget
• Method 3—Destroy
The following procedure is an example showing how to remove a storage repository by using
Citrix XenCenter:
1. In the Resources pane, right-click the storage repository to remove.
2. To detach the storage repository, click Detach.
3. To remove the storage repository (without deleting any of the storage-repository contents),
right-click the detached storage repository, and then click Forget.

Citrix XenServer provides the following methods for removing virtual volumes and storage
repositories with a command line interface.
• Method 1—Detach
• Method 2—Forget
• Method 3—Destroy
