6.2 Securing the Storage Server
After verifying that the storage server is functioning properly, secure the system by closing the
rear door and locking it with the keys provided with the storage server.
Table 6-9. Supermicro Service Processor Front-Panel Displays
LED Appearance Meaning
Power No light Indicates that the service processor is off.
Steady green light Indicates that the service processor is on.
Hard Disk No light Indicates that there is no hard drive
activity.
Flashing amber light Indicates that there is hard drive activity.
NIC Port 2 No light Indicates that the port is not connected.
Flashing green light Indicates that there is network activity.
Steady green light Indicates that the port is connected.
NIC Port 1 No light Indicates that the port is not connected.
Flashing green light Indicates that there is network activity.
Steady green light Indicates that the port is connected.
Overheat No light Indicates that the service processor
temperature is normal.
Steady red light Indicates that the service processor
temperature is overheating.
WARNING: Hazardous energy is located behind the rear access door of the
storage server cabinet. Use caution when working with the door open.
