HP 3PAR InForm OS 2.3.1 Extended MU5 Release Notes (QL226-96621, May 2013)

DescriptionItemBug ID
Consequently, integer arguments passed to the CLI commands are also treated as
octal numbers if they have a leading 0.
(zeros) are treated as octal
numbers.
Workaround: If you do not wish for integers to be treated as octal integers, do
not use leading zeros.
The showcage -sfp command shows the sfp state as OK, Degraded, Failed or
Unknown. For an unqualified SFP, the state should be Degraded but is shown as
OK.
Drive cage displays do not
correctly report degraded
SFPs.
46372
Workaround: If showcage sfp shows an SFP as OK, try using showcage
sfp d <cage_name> . If the Qualified field shows No, then it is an unqualified
SFP and its state should be deemed as Degraded.
There are two issues associated with this bug.Discrepancy between
showsys -space and
47270
Base volume space is double counted.
This problem is resolved in 2.3.1 GA and also back ported to 2.2.4 MU6 (bug
31892 and 45225).
showvv -r data for base
volumes.
The raw used space is calculated wrong for RAID 5 and RAID 6 Logical Disks.
In this case, the showcpg r and showsys space command output will
display wrong information.
Bug 48234 is opened to track this problem.
The CLI commands growvv, growavv, growaldvv and growtpvv do not give
a warning if the VV size has grown from under 2TB to over 2TB. This may be an
Behavior when VV size
grows from under 2TB to
above 2TB
53468
issue with some operating system versions (e.g. ESX 3.5 Update 5 cannot use a
VV over 2TB in size).
The CLI command showspace -hist -cpg <cpg1> returns all the CPG
information from the server back to the client. Since the command returns
everything, the tcl list will be too big and may cause the tpdtcl to run out of memory.
CLI command showspace
-hist -cpg <x> will
only return specific CPG
information

The CLI command showvlun -t -host <pattern> shows the VLUNs exported
to all hosts or host sets which match with the <pattern>. If a host which matches
CLIcommand showvlun
-t -host <pattern>

the <pattern> belongs to a host set and a VLUN was exported to the host set, behavior with VLUNs
exported to a host through
a host set.
then showvlun -t -host <pattern> should show the VLUN exported to the
host set. Currently the output of the command does not include this.
Perform the following steps for a workaround to get a complete list of VLUNs for
showvlun t host <hostpattern> :
1. showhostset -host <hostpattern>
2. For each host set from Step 1, get the list of VLUNs by showvlun t host
set:<hostsetname>
3. showvlun t host <hostpattern>
4. Combine the result of Step 2 and 3 to get a complete list of VLUNs
In some cases, if a valid time zone is provided from CLI command settz but a
failure occurs during the propagation of the timezone across appropriate directories
CLI commands showdate
and stats time stamps
mismatch.

in the Storage System, it is possible it results in a situation where CLI commands
showdate and stats time stamps do not match. The piece of code handling
the time zone propagation did not report errors back to upper layers (which always
assumed the time zone change was successful).
The showportlesb reset subcommand description is incorrect and should
read: Specifies that internal counters are saved as the reference point from which
deltas are calculated for the next sampling cycle.
Description update for CLI
subcommand
showportlesb reset .
