HP 3PAR InForm OS 2.3.1 Extended MU5 Release Notes (QL226-96621, May 2013)

NOTE: Installing this Extended Maintenance Update (EMU) will likely disconnect the management
interfaces, thereby ending the CLI and HP 3PAR InForm Management Console (IMC) sessions and
possibly generating alerts. This is expected behavior. If the management interfaces are disconnected,
reconnect and start new CLI or IMC sessions.

WARNING! If you are using the Thin Persistence feature and you are upgrading from InForm OS
2.3.1 GA to 2.3.1 EMU5, you must install 2.3.1 P10 before installing 2.3.1 EMU5.
If you are upgrading from InForm OS 2.3.1 MU1 to 2.3.1 EMU5, you must install 2.3.1 MU1 P9
before installing 2.3.1 EMU5.

What’s New in this Release
This release includes issues resolved and a warning to suggest selecting a combination of RAID 6 a
Nearline drives when using these CLI commands: createcpg, setcpg, createaldvv, growaldvv,
and tunealdvv.
It also provides support for new 300 GB, 450 GB, and 1 TB drives and provide new Field Replaceable
Unit (FRU) options for the field.
Modifications to the InForm OS
This Extended MU provides support for:
• 300 GB (SEGLE0300GBFC15K) drives and 1 TB (SMSKP0001TBAT07K) drives on E class systems
• 300 GB (SEGLE0300GBFC15K) drives, 450 GB (SEGLE0450GBFC15K) drives, and 1 TB
(SMSKP0001TBAT07K) drives on F class, S class, and T class systems
After successful installation of this EMU, an older 300 GB (ST3300656FC) or 450 GB (ST3450856FC)
drive can be replaced with 300 GB (SEGLE0300GBFC15K) or 450 GB (SEGLE0450GBFC15K) drive
and 1 TB (ST31000340NS) drive can be replaced with 1 TB (SMSKP0001TBAT07K) drive in case
of a failure of an older drive.
