HP 3PAR SUSE Linux Enterprise Implementation Guide

On an HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system running HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3, use the createhost
command with the -persona 2 option for the Generic-ALUA persona:
# createhost -iscsi -persona 2 susehost iqn.1994-05.com.suse:a3df53b0a32d
On an HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system running HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2, OS 3.1.1, or OS
2.3.x, use createhost with option -persona 1 for a generic persona:
# createhost -iscsi -persona 1 susehost iqn.1996-04.de.suse:01:9282cfbddd49
Example without the -persona option:
On an HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system running HP 3PAR OS 2.2.x:
# createhost -iscsi suse iqn.1994-05.com.suse:a3df53b0a32d
2. Verify that the host entry has been created.
Example for an HP 3PAR array running HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 or later:
# showhost
Id Name Persona ----------WWN/iSCSI_Name----------- Port
0 susehost Generic-ALUA iqn.1996-04.de.suse:01:9282cfbddd49 0:3:1
iqn.1996-04.de.suse:01:9282cfbddd49 1:3:1
Example for an HP 3PAR array running HP 3PAR OS OS 3.1.2, OS 3.1.1, or OS 2.3.x:
# showhost
Id Name Persona ----------WWN/iSCSI_Name--------- Port
0 susehost Generic iqn.1994-05.com.suse:a3df53b0a32d 0:3:1
iqn.1994-05.com.suse:a3df53b0a32d 1:3:1
NOTE: For an HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system running HP 3PAR OS 2.2.x, the output
of showhost appears differently, since there are no Persona fields.
Example of showhost output for an HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system running HP 3PAR
OS 2.2.x:
# showhost
Id Name -----------WWN/iSCSI_Name------------ Port
0 linux iqn.1994-05.com.suse:a3df53b0a32d 0:3:1
iqn.1994-05.com.suse:a3df53b0a32d 1:3:1
