Smart Threshold Exceeded
SUGGESTED ACTION
A disk might be marked media-failed if it has been reporting disk aborts with error code 21 to
specify that the threshold for SMART errors has been exceeded. Contact your local service provider
to replace the disk.
A physical disk drive has failed and requires replacement.
STATE 32
Multiple Chunklets Media Bad
SUGGESTED ACTION
A disk might be marked media-failed because more than six chunklets on that disk have reported
media-errors. Contact your local service provider to replace the disk.
A physical disk drive has failed and requires replacement.
STATE 33
Media Failed
SUGGESTED ACTION
A disk will be marked media-failed if a hardware error or a device is bad error is reported by the
disk. Contact your local service provider to replace the disk.

Increased Error Count
SUGGESTED ACTION
A disk will be marked media-failed if there has been an increase of more than 20 in the error
counts of the disk. Contact your local service provider to replace the disk.

No Valid Ports
SUGGESTED ACTION
The PD specified in the alert has been failed because it has no valid ports. Use the CLI command
showpd <pd_id> to confirm the disk is still in this state. services: A disk is marked failed if it has
no valid ports. A port is considered not valid if its been marked disabled (by the system manager
or by a servicecage command) or if its reporting other errors. This could be caused by loop
problems too. Further analysis should be done to check possible loop issues. A showcage -d
might be used to confirm the cage state of the disk. Your local service provider should analyze the
problem and the decision of replacing the disk should be based on whether loop problems or disk
problems are causing the alert to be posted. Contact your local service provider for technical
support and services.
