Service Processor Placement
The Service Processor (SP) is supports all actions required for maintenance of the storage system,
providing real-time, automated monitoring. The SP also supports remote access to diagnose and
resolve potential problems.
The SP resides in the lower section of the controller node cabinet and is typically installed directly
below the node chassis power supply tray and directly above the DC4 drive chassis (Figure 36
(page 36)). The SP is powered internally by the storage system and does not require an external
power connection.
