Secure Service Policy Manager Upgrade Instructions

3.0 Introduction

This document provides procedure for upgrading the Secure Service Policy Manager from

version 4.0.0 to 4.1.0. These procedures allow existing customers to upgrade their Policy

Manager while retaining the prior configuration.

4.0 Upgrading the Policy Manager

1 Insert the Policy Manager CD, part number 780-200043, into the CD-ROM drive on which

the Policy Manager is installed. If the autorun doesn't start, navigate to the CDROM drive

and choose install 3PARSSPM_4_1_0_6.exe.

NOTE: You will also need the 3PAR Secure Service Policy Manager User’s Guide,

P/N 320-200066, to perform this procedure.

NOTE:

■ Any user connected to the Policy Manager will lose their current session when

upgrading Policy Manager.

■ The upgrade process stops the running Policy Manager.

■ The server that Policy Manager is installed on will be rebooted during the

upgrade process.

■ The Custodians associated with this Policy Manager will continue to function

with a cached set of policies until the new Policy Manager is back up. Policies

which have been configured to ASK are converted to DENY until the Policy

Manager returns.
