1 Introduction The HP 3PAR Service Processor Software 2.5.x Release Notes document is cumulative and includes subsequent updates relating to the base release of Service Processor Software 2.5.1. This document should be read prior to the installation of the SP 2.5.x Software. 2 Service Processor Software 2.5.1 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.1 release of the HP 3PAR Service Processor (SP). What’s New in the Service Processor The Service Processor 2.5.1 software provides the following new features: • Support for HP P10000 3PAR Storage Systems. • Support for HP 3PAR InForm OS Software 3.1.1. Modifications to the Service Processor The following issues have been addressed in this release.
Issue ID Item Description 56796 Fixed issues with aborted disk replacements scripts in the Guided Maintenance Previously, if a disk cage disk replacement script is aborted or otherwise improperly closed, a subsequent use of the Guided Maintenance disk replacement scripts may show erroneous data left over from the previous run. This is now fixed.
Improper Default Disk Logging May Be Set (Issue 62583) If you use the Guided Maintenance scripts to run servicemag start in preparation for disk replacement, Guided Maintenance scripts will propose a default value for the logging parameter in servicemag start. In most cases, the default value for logging is appropriate. However, if one disk is Degraded and another FC disk is Failed, Guided Maintenance will set an inappropriate logging value of YES. Make sure to select the proper logging value.

6 Service Processor Software 2.5.1 P004 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.1 P004 release of the HP Service Processor. What's New in the Service Processor This release includes a fix to Issue 66787. When replacing or adding a controller node to the storage system, a procedure known as Node Rescue is performed to ensure the controller node(s) being added or replaced are in the proper state before becoming part of the system.
7 Service Processor Software 2.5.1 MU1 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.1 MU1 release of the HP Service Processor. What's New in the Service Processor This release includes an update to the spvar user ID password and includes all previously released SP 2.5.1 patches (P001, P002, P003, P004). Modifications to the Service Processor The following issues have been addressed in this release.
8 Service Processor Software 2.5.1 MU1 P005 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.1 MU1 P005 release of the HP Service Processor. What's New in the Service Processor This release includes an improvement to the SD defrag scheduling when upgrading from InForm OS 3.1.1 Patch 06 to 3.1.1 MU1. 9 Service Processor Software 2.5.2 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.2 release of the HP Service Processor. What’s New in the Service Processor This release provides Secure Network Architecture Agent Version 6 for increased performance and scalability, and it provides Service Processor software that enables communication with the new HP Call Home infrastructure in Secure Network Mode (SNM).
10 Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P410 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P410 release of the HP Service Processor. NOTE: The P410 patch is superseded by the SP 2.5.2 P402 patch. It is now obsolete and should not be used. What’s New in the Service Processor This release provides support for remote upgrade from Service Processor software version 2.5.2.GA-11 to Service Processor software version 4.1. This patch (P410) installs on SP 2.5.
11 Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P402 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P402 release of the HP Service Processor. What’s New in the Service Processor Patch SP 2.5.2.GA-11.402 is used to upgrade an SP from SP 2.5.2.GA-11 to SP 4.1.0.GA-60+P001+P002. Patch 2.5.2 P402 supersedes patch SP 2.5.2 P410 for upgrading SPs from version 2.5.2. This patch contains the combined 4.1.0 payload, including: • SP 4.1.0.GA-60 • SP 4.1.0.GA-60 P001 • SP 4.1.0.
12 Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P411 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P411 release of the HP Service Processor. What’s New in the Service Processor Patch SP-2.5.2.GA-11.411 is used to upgrade Service Processors from version 2.5.2 to version 4.1.0 MU1. This patch supersedes patch SP 2.5.2.GA-11.402 and contains the combined SP 4.1.0 payload, which includes SP-4.1.0.GA-78 (MU1).
13 Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P412 Release The following release notes are for the Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P412 release of the HP Service Processor. What’s New in the Service Processor Patch SP-2.5.2.GA.11.412 is used to upgrade Service Processors from version 2.5.1 or 2.5.2 to version 4.1.0.GA-97 (MU2). This patch supersedes all previous SP 2.5.2–to–SP 4.1.0 upgrade patches and contains the combined SP 4.1.0 payload, which includes SP-4.1.0.GA-97 (MU2).
14 Service Processor Software 2.5.2.GA-11.P001 Release (Optional) What’s New in the Service Processor The SP-2.5.2.GA-11.P001 patch is an optional patch that provides an update for the HP 3PAR Service Processor when running remote operations. Additionally, the default password of the spdood, spvar, and root users is reset to a new default password with this patch.
NOTE: Entering 2 for Set outbound only HQ communications disables remote operations capabilities. 5. Enter s, and then press Enter to save and apply the new setting. 15 Service Processor Software 2.5.2.GA-11.P002 Release What’s New in the Service Processor This patch resolves an issue in which the SP may stop sending files to headquarters (Issue 90479). Additionally, this patch increases the maximum file size that can be uploaded to the HP Call Home datacenter from 1 GB to 2 GB, and it provides additional checks to make sure that SP patches are applied to the intended release versions. Patch SP-2.5.2.GA-11.P002 includes patch SP-2.5.2.GA-11.P001.
16 Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P003 Release What's New in the Service Processor The purpose of the SP 2.5.2 P003 patch is to: • Provides Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate Management capability in SPOCC and SPMAINT. You can use SPOCC and SPMAINT to view the storage-array SSL certificate. • Storage-array Upgrade: During this operation the SP detects the storage-array OS Level and generates a new SSL certificate for the array, if one does not already exist.
17 Service Processor Software 2.5.2 P004 Release What's New in the Service Processor 1. While running in Secure Network Mode, the Service Processor may stop sending files to headquarters (HQ). This issue usually occurs after network connectivity to HP HQ has been lost and then recovered. The Service Processor resumes sending pings to HQ, but files are not sent from the SP to HQ. An earlier patch (SP 2.5.2 P002) partially fixed this issue.
