5 Service Processor Software 4.2.0 P002 Release
The following release notes are for the HP 3PAR Service Processor (SP) Software 4.2.0 P002
release.
NOTE:
• HP 3PAR Service Processor (SP) Software 4.2.0 P002 is cumulative and includes updates from
4.2.0 P001.
• HP 3PAR Service Processor (SP) Software 4.2.0 P002 is a mandatory release.
SP 4.2.0 GA-P002 enforces the following HP 3PAR operating system upgrade and downgrade
restrictions:
• You must install SP-4.2.0.GA-P002 before upgrading to 3.1.3.230-MU1
• The only allowed upgrade path from 3.1.3.202-GA is to 3.1.3.230-MU1
Offline Mode — If the current OS is 3.1.3.202-GA, you can upgrade to 3.1.3.230-MU1
in offline mode (3.1.3.202-P02 is not required)

◦ Online Mode — Install 3.1.3.202--P02 before upgrading to 3.1.3.230-MU1 in online
mode
• Downgrading to 3.1.3.202-GA is not allowed from any OS level
