1.1 Introduction
This document provides the release notes for HP 3PAR SmartStart 1.2 Software.
HP 3PAR SmartStart is a single startup tool that enables effortless setup of the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000
Storage system. SmartStart guides you through configuring all the required components for starting
up the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage platform.

SmartStart 1.2 adds support for Windows Server 2012 in addition to Windows Server 2008 R2.

In SmartStart 1.1.1, if the Windows disk label contained an apostrophe,

SmartStart 1.2.

This issue is resolved in SmartStart 1.2.
1.4 Known Issues with HP 3PAR SmartStart
1.4.1 SP4.1.0-GA85: Better estimate on time required for cage firmware upgrades
needed (Issue 86777)
In the “Check storage system hardware configuration step of the Storage System Setup Wizard, an
amount of time that the firmware upgrade will take to complete is given. This amount of time is only
an estimate. The actual elapsed time may vary depending on the number of devices in your
configuration.
1.4.2 SP Setup Wizard spins on “Set date and time in the Setup Progress page (Issue
86785)
On the Setup Progress page of the Service Processor Setup Wizard, the “Set date and time step
appears to stop responding.
