MSM3xx/MSM4xx and HP 425 Access Points Release Notes v6.2.0.1
Scheduled install
When the scheduled install update process is triggered, the AP retrieves the first 2 KB of the firmware
file to determine if it is different from the active version. If it is not, the download stops and the firmware
is not updated at this time. This means that if you try to upload the same firmware by accident, it will
not affect the operation of your network. If the firmware file is different (newer or older, which enables
you to return to a previous firmware version if required), the entire firmware file is then downloaded
and its signature is validated. If the signature is valid, then the file is installed, otherwise the update
is terminated.
Configuration settings are preserved during the update. However, all active connections will be
terminated. Users will have to log in again after the AP restarts.
Fixes
Version 6.2.0.1 includes a fix to the following issue:
• (Applies to HP 425.) The potential for a flash memory error was detected in the software. This
error has a low probability of occurrence, but if it does occur, the unit might reboot.
Version 6.2.0.0 includes fixes to the following issues:
• (Applies to MSM410, MSM430, MSM460, MSM466, MSM466-R.) Probe responses are not
sent for unknown or new stations if the Detected Stations table grows to include 200 clients.
• After an MSM7xx restart, MSM3xx/MSM422 APs are unable to continue announcing non-access
controlled VSCs until the controller restart completes.
• Automatic Channel Selection avoids channel #6 on the 2.4 GHz band when the bandwidth is
configured for 40 MHz.
• Controlled APs may randomly reboot.
• (Applies to MSM410, MSM430, MSM460, MSM466, MSM466-R.) When using SOAP to change
the access point configuration mode (either from autonomous to controlled or vice-versa), the AP
returns a configuration timeout error and displays the following error messages:
<ip-address> err websoap websoap: Failed to commit transaction
(ID=<222>, error=<Configuration commit timeout.>)
<ip-address> err websoap websoap: SOAP FAULT: SOAP-ENV:Client "Invalid
configuration"
<ip-address> err websoap websoap: Detail:
<error><errorcode>1009</errorcode><errorinfo>Configuration commit
timeout.</errorinfo></error>
• (Applies to teaming.) It is possible to delete a MAC list that is still being used by the AP or controller.
If this happens, the AP or team will not synchronize.
• (Applies to MSM310, MSM317, MSM320, MSM325, MSM335, MSM422 in controlled mode.)
Changes to the Interval and Time of day web controls for APs are ignored if system-wide
auto-channel is enabled.
• When RRM is enabled, the channel scan for the MSM410 retrieves incorrect noise floor data for
any channel that has already been used by the access point, preventing the device from selecting
the previous channel even if the noise level has improved.
• Radio status counters are displayed incorrectly.
• The wireless MAC filter for a VSC has been extended to support 256 MAC addresses (instead
of the previous limit of 64).
• (Applies to MSM410, MSM430, MSM460, MSM466, MSM466-R.) An access point serving a
VSC that is configured to egress traffic on either an Internet or LAN port may experience
higher–than–expected CPU usage and low throughput.
