MSM7xx Controllers Configuration Guide v6.4.0
1 Introduction
This guide describes how to configure and manage HP MSM7xx Controllers. This document applies
to the MSM720, MSM760, and MSM765 zl, and MSM775 zl Controllers. These products are
hereafter referred to generically as controller.
See also the MSM7xx Controller Installation Guide specific to your controller model for details on
how to install and initially configure your controller.

“Dashboard” (page 25)Dashboard: The dashboard feature provides a wide variety
of information about the operation of the wireless network
using charts and graphs.
“Wireless mode” (page 89)New AP: This release adds support for the HP 517
802.11ac Unified Walljack, which features a single
dual-band 3x3:3 802.11a/b/g/n/ac radio and integrated
4-port switch.
“Free access lock out time nn hours” (page 410)Free access lock out time: The free access lock out time
feature has been added to the Controller >> Public access
> Web content page. It enables administrators to specify
how many hours a user is blocked from using the free
account option after their initial free account expires.
“Configuring MAC address format” (page 347)MAC address formatting: The format used for defining
MAC addresses in a user account, or sent to a remote
RADIUS server, can now be specified.
“Client restriction” (page 96)Parameter renamed: The parameter Allow 802.11n clients
only on the radio page has been renamed to Client
restriction and new settings have been added to support
802.11ac clients on the HP 517.
“Viewing all configured APs” (page 158)Admin Down parameter: A new parameter, called Admin
Down, has been added. This parameter can be used to
flag an AP that is offline for a known reason (such as
maintenance, relocation) to differentiate it from other APs
that are offline for unknown reasons (network failure, power
failure, or other issues that prevent them from
communicating with the controller).
