MSM7xx Controllers Configuration Guide v6.4.0

Viewing all discovered APs
To display information about APs discovered by the controller, select Controlled APs >> Overview
> Discovered APs.
The Discovered APs page provides the following information:
Number of access points: Indicates the number of APs that were discovered.
Select the action to apply to all listed APs: Lets you apply the selected action to all APs in the
list. Select an action and then Apply.
Authorize Locally: Use this option to manually authorize an AP. This is useful when AP
authentication is enabled on the Controller >> Controlled APs >> Authentication page.
When this option is enabled, only APs that are defined in an authentication list are
automatically authorized. All other APs are flagged as Not authorized.
Accept Suspicious: If an AP submits more than one request for a signed certificate, it is
flagged as Suspicious. The goal with this strategy is to guard against fake requests from
malicious third-party devices. Legitimate APs may also be classified as Suspicious when
they are reset to factory default, or when switched from controlled mode to autonomous
mode and back again. In this case, use this option to accept the AP.
Accept Products: It is possible to pre-configure APs on the Controlled APs >> Overview >
Configured APs page. When a preconfigured AP is later discovered, the controller attempts
to match the actual product type of the discovered AP with its configured value. If there
is a mismatch, the AP is flagged as Wrong product. Use this option to replace the
configured product type with the actual discovered value.
Synchronize Configuration: Synchronize configuration settings on the controller on all
controlled APs..
Remove and Rediscover: Removes all discovered APs and re-initiates the discovery process.
Status:
Green: The AP is synchronized, meaning that the AP is connected, running, and has
received its configuration from the controller.
Orange: The AP is unsynchronized, meaning that the AP is operational but does not have
the same configuration as the controller, yet.
Red: The AP is not part of the controlled network and is not providing wireless services.
See the Diagnostic column for details.
Grey flashing: An action is pending.
Grey solid: The AP is configured in a group, but has not been discovered on the network.
Controlled AP name: Name assigned to the AP.
