Planning and Implementation for the HP
2610-PoE Switches
Introduction
This chapter discusses the planning process you should follow to successfully
implement PoE using HP 2610-PoE Switches. See “General Considerations”
on page A-1 for an example list of considerations during the planning phase.
HP 2610-PoE Switches
The HP 2610-48-PoE Switch – J9089A (previously called the HP ProCurve
Switch 2610-48-PWR) has 48 PoE-integrated auto-sensing 10/100Base-TX RJ-
45 ports with four gigabit uplink ports.
The HP 2610-24-PoE Switch – J9087A (previously called the HP ProCurve
Switch 2610-12-PWR) has 24 PoE-integrated auto-sensing 10/100Base-TX RJ-
45 ports with four gigabit uplink ports.
The HP 2610-24-PPoE Switch – J9086A (previously called the HP
ProCurve Switch 2610-24/12PWR) has 12 PoE-integrated auto-sensing 10/
100Base-TX RJ-45 ports with 12 non-PoE RJ-45 ports and four gigabit uplink
ports.
