Planning and Implementation for the HP 2920-PoE+ Switches
PoE Provisioning
PoE Provisioning
The 2920-PoE+ Switches have two power supply options: 575W (J9738A)
and 1050W (J9737A).
The 2920-24G-PoE+ Switch can provide this much PoE+:
With the 575W power supply installed: up to 370 watts of PoE+
power across any 23 of the 24 ports.
With the 1050W power supply installed: up to 740 watts of PoE+
across all 24 ports.
The 2920-48G-PoE+ Switch can provide this much PoE+:
With the 575W power supply installed: up to 370 watts of PoE+
across any 47 of the 48 ports
With the 1050W power supply installed: up to 740W of PoE+
across all 48 ports.
The 2920-24G-PoE+ and 2920-48G-PoE+ Switches provision (allocate power
to) the switch ports as shown in Table 9-1. For the 2920-48G-PoE+ Switch, for
a given power supply, the average per port wattage is half as much compared
to the 2920-24G-PoE+ Switch.

Power Supplies
Connecting an HP 640 RPS/EPS Shelf (J9805A) with 575W or 1050W power
supplies installed provides the additional PoE+ power shown in Table 9-2 and
Table 9-3.
