In case of heavier configurations, where the weight of the configured 5406R exceeds 55 pounds or
in cases where the weight of the configured 5412R exceeds 72 pounds, use the HP 10000 series Rail
Mounting Kit (5070-0145) along with 4U/7U Universal Rail Kit (J9852A) for shipment in an HP Rack.
HP 10000 series Rack Rail Kit Installation for HP Switches
1. Use a posi-drive screwdriver, two included 16-mm M6 screws and two included M6 cage nuts
to attach each rail to the rack or cabinet as shown in the following illustration. Make sure that
the screws are at the same level in each upright.
Devices installed in a rack or cabinet should be mounted as low as possible, with the heaviest
device at the bottom and progressively lighter devices installed above.
