configuration commands
broadcast-suppression
Use broadcast-suppression to set the broadcast suppression threshold on an Ethernet interface or
subinterface.
Use undo broadcast-suppression to restore the default broadcast suppression threshold.
Syntax
broadcast-suppression ratio
undo broadcast-suppression
Default
Ethernet interfaces do not suppress broadcast traffic.
Views
Layer 2 Ethernet interface view, Layer 2 Ethernet subinterface view
Default command level
2: System level
Parameters
ratio: Sets the broadcast suppression threshold as a percentage of the maximum interface rate. The
smaller the percentage, the less broadcast traffic is allowed to be received. The ratio argument ranges
from 1 to 100.
Usage guidelines
In Ethernet interface or subinterface view, the configuration takes effect only on the interface or
subinterface.
When the received broadcast traffic exceeds the broadcast suppression threshold, the interface discards
broadcast packets until broadcast traffic drops below the threshold.
If you set different broadcast suppression thresholds in Ethernet interface view multiple times, the most
recent configuration takes effect.
