On your PC, run a terminal emulation program, such as Terminal of Windows 3.X and HyperTerminal of
Windows 9X and Windows XP.
Set the terminal communication parameters as follows:
Baud rate—9600 bps
Data bits—8
ParityNone
Stop bit—1
Flow controlNone
NOTE:
The required values of the terminal communication parameters depend on the device model.
3. Log in to the CLI and perform basic configurations
Perform IP address and routing configurations.
Enable the SSL VPN service (enabled by default) .
Enable the Web service (enabled by default).
Configure the router to ensure that your Web management terminal and the SSL VPN gateway can
reach each other.
Save your configurations.
4. Access the Web management interface through HTTPS
For super administrators and administrators, from the Web management terminal (your PC, for
example), launch the IE browser and type https://IP address of the internal Ethernet interface of
the module:port number/admin in the address bar to enter the SSL VPN management login page,
as shown in Figure 5.

browser and type https://IP address of the internal Ethernet interface of the module:port number
in the address bar to enter the SSL VPN management login page.
Enter your username and password and click Login to enter the SSL VPN management page.
NOTE:
By default, the port number for super administrators and administrators is 444, and that for normal
users is 443. These two port numbers are configurable. If you do not specify the management port when
inputting the address of the SSL VPN management page in the address bar of the IE browser, you access
the normal user interface.
The initial username and password of a super administrator are both administrator.
The super administrator can create administrators and configure their login passwords. The
administrator can create normal users and configure their login usernames and passwords. For more
