Overview The HP SSL VPN module can handle a maximum of 500 online users by default without registration. To handle more online users, purchase and register a license for your SSL VPN module.
License registration procedure License registration has the following procedures: Figure 1 License registration and activation procedure After you register your product license, use the activation file to activate the license on your SSL VPN module. For more information, see “Activating licenses”.
Registering licenses Step1 Log in to the HP My Networking portal at http://hp.com/networking/mynetworking/, and select My Networking > My License. Enter the order number in the field labeled “Order number or Registration ID”. Figure 2 Go to the HP website and enter my license registration page Step2 Click the Next button, the email page appears. Type an email address associated with this order number in the text box.
Figure 4 Select a product Step4 Click the Next button, the details information page appears. Select your base product and base serial number: 1. The base product number can be found on the label on the device, the product box, packing slip or invoice. 2. The product serial number can be found in 3 locations: • On the product box label. • On the product itself: look for the bar code label and “SN:”. • Log in the web management page and select Domain > Domain Policy from the left navigation tree.

Base serial number* The product serial number can be found in 3 locations, on the product box label or on the product itself, look for the bar code label and “SN:”. Or log in to the web management page and select Domain>Domain Policy from the left navigation tree. The serial number is on the License tab.

Activating licenses Logging in to the SSL VPN management page Before you log in to the SSL VPN web management page, access the SSL VPN command line interface through the console port of the SSL VPN module to perform basic configuration. Step1 Connect the devices. • Use a console cable to connect the serial port of your PC to the console port of the SSL VPN module.
Step4 Step5 Configure the network device that holds the SSL VPN module. • Assign an IP address, 192.168.1.2/24 for example, to the internal interface that connects the network device to the SSL VPN module. • Assign an IP address, 192.168.0.2/24 for example, to the interface that connects the network device to the PC. • Configure a default route, for example, ip route-static 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1. Make sure that the PC and the SSL VPN module can reach each other.
Figure 10 License Import tab Click Browse to select the activation file and click Import. The activation file will be imported and the license will be activated on the SSL VPN module.
