PIM-SSM configuration example
Network requirements
Receivers receive VOD information through multicast. The receiver groups of different organizations
form stub networks, and one or more receiver hosts exist in each stub network. The entire PIM
domain operates in the SSM mode.
Host A and Host C are multicast receivers in two stub networks.
Firewall D connects to the network that comprises the multicast source (Source) through
GigabitEthernet 0/0.
Firewall A connects to stub network N1 through GigabitEthernet 0/0, and to Firewall D and
Firewall E through GigabitEthernet 0/1 and GigabitEthernet 0/2 respectively.
Firewall B and Firewall C connect to stub network N2 through their respective GigabitEthernet 0/0,
and to Firewall E through their respective GigabitEthernet 0/1.
Firewall E connects to Firewall A, Firewall B, Firewall C and Firewall D.
