Modify Backup Interface
Click Modify Backup Interface to enter the Backup Interface Configuration page,
and then you can:
Select one or more interfaces from the Optional Backup Interface(s) list, and
then click the << button to add the selected interfaces to the Backup Interface(s)
list.
Select one or more interfaces from the Backup Interface(s) list, and then click
the >> button to remove the selected interfaces from the list.
Modify the working mode of any failover interface in the list at the lower part.
All currently effective failover interfaces are displayed in the list. If no failover
interface is specified, the list is not displayed.
After completing the settings, click Apply to return to the stateful failover
configuration page.
IMPORTANT:
The device supports a maximum of two failover interfaces.
If you click Modify Backup Interface before clicking Apply, the configurations
you have made on the stateful failover configuration page will be lost.
Manual Synchronization
Click the Manual Synchronization button to synchronize all configurations from
the active device to the standby device.
If the current stateful failover state is synchronization, you can select the manual
synchronization method.
Current Status
Current stateful failover state of the device:
Silence—Indicates that the device has just started, or is transiting from
synchronization state to independence state.
Independence—Indicates that the silence timer has expired, but no failover link
is established.
Synchronization—Indicates that the device has completed state negotiation
with the other device and is ready for data backup.
Current Configuration
Synchronization Status
Display the current configuration synchronization state:
A configuration conflict occurs—Indicates both devices are active or standby
devices.
Waiting for the synchronization status
Preparing for synchronization
Synchronizing all configurations
Synchronizes configurations automatically—The synchronization of all
configurations has completed. Configuration updates on the active device will
be automatically synchronized to the standby device.
Auto synchronization is not performed—Because auto synchronization is not
specified, configuration updates on the active device will not be automatically
synchronized to the standby device.

In this configuration example, either Device A or Device B is the firewall.
