• After an IPv6 global unicast address is configured for an interface, a link-local address is generated
automatically. The automatically generated link-local address is the same as the one

Configuring IPv6 ND
Configuring a static neighbor entry
The IPv6 address of a neighboring node can be resolved into a link-layer address dynamically through
NS and NA messages or through a manually configured static neighbor entry.
The firewall uniquely identifies a static neighbor entry by the neighbor's IPv6 address and the local Layer
3 interface number. You can configure a static neighbor entry by associating a neighbor IPv6 address
and link-layer address with the Layer 3 interface of the local node.
