5. Verify the correct operation of the FC4-16IP blade ports by typing the switchShow command
from the 4/256 SAN Director command prompt. This command provides information about
switch and port status.
Recommendations for cable management
Cables can be organized and managed in a variety of ways, such as by using cable channels or
patch panels, as follows:
• Plan cable management before installing the blade.
• Leave at least one meter of slack for each port cable. This provides room to remove and replace
the blades, and helps prevent the cables from being bent to less than the minimum bend radius.
