Director configuration to the server so that it is available for downloading to a replacement switch, if
necessary.
An easy way to backup configuration information is to enable logging on your telnet session and
run the following commands and save the output in a file on a secure host.
Once you enable logging, run the following commands:
• configShow
• ipaddrShow
• licenseShow
• switchShow
You should also consider keeping hardcopy versions of key data such as passwords, license keys,
and IP addresses. This is sensitive information and should be kept in a secure location.
NOTE: Passwords are not saved in the configuration file, and are not uploaded during a
configUpload. Password information should be saved in hardcopy in a secure location for
emergency reference, subject to your security and password management policy.
