HP-UX Update Patches

Hewlett Packard PA-8800 based servers and workstations require the December 2003 (or later) release of the

following bundles and individual patches:

HP-UX 11i (11.11) OE bundles

• HWEnable11i patch bundle

• Updated driver bundles

• OnlineDiags bundle

Additional Individual Patches

• PHCO_29327 11.11 cumulative SAM patch

—Fix SAM operation with OLAR and Attention Buttons (Doorbells).

• PHCO_29944 11.11 hotplugd(1M) daemon for doorbell enablement

—OLAR and Attention Buttons (Doorbells) support for rp4440 server.

• PHNE_29947: 11.11 IETHER 1000Base-SX/T cumul. patch

—Fixes GigEthernet LAN swinstall from server on different subnet.

• PHKL_30100 11.11 Psets, vPar, Xserver, T600 HPMC, KRNG, early LPMC

—Corrects LPMC and interrupt handling during early boot process.

• PHSS_30101 Support Tool Manager Dec 2003

—Correct the handling of noncritical LPMC errors and other events.

• PHKL_30105 11.11 remove mem module and LPMC syslog msgs

—Remove noncritical messages from dmesg buffer and syslog.

NOTE PHKL_30100, PHKL_30105, and PHSS_30101 are already installed on new PA-8800 systems ordered with the Instant-Ignition option. NOTE Once enabled, ensure OLAR (Online Add or Replace) operations have completed prior to initiating an OLAR operation on a different slot. Replacement Example: Suspend drivers, turn off power to slot, remove existing card, insert replacement card, and enable power and drivers. Initiate OLAR operation on next slot.
