Introduction
Administrator activities
The table beginning on page 70 lists typical administrator activities.
Procedures in this chapter explain how to perform these activities. As
the table shows, you perform most of the activities in three places.
Sometimes you can do the same thing in more than one place.
control panel
Used to change configuration parameters and to perform certain
administrator activities. Only the administrator has access to the
configuration menu for performing these activities.
HP Address Book Manager (ABM)
Used to maintain user profiles, public address books, printers for
use with the digital sender, and security, and to back up and
restore address books.
HP JetAdmin software
Used to configure, monitor, and control network devices such as
the digital sender, and to troubleshoot network problems.
The activity log is an important tool for monitoring all digital sender
activitiesthose initiated by users as well as the administrator. You
view this log using the HP Address Book Manager (see Using the
activity log on page 113).
