c. Optional: Add multiple RADIUS servers by entering their configuration information and clicking
Add. To edit the information you have already entered, select it from the list, make your changes,
and then click Update.
d. Click Next.
For password file authentication: Click Next.
16.Select the size of the SAN that Fabric Manager is to manage (Table 5 on page 27 lists the polling rates
for each SAN size).
17. Click Next.
You are prompted to wait while Fabric Manager server is started (this might take a few minutes). After
the Fabric Manager server is started, the Configure Client Options window opens.
18.Enter the Fabric Manager server IP address using the following guidelines, or enter localhost or the
DNS/WINS name if you want to use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP):
The limit is 65 characters, including .com, .net, or .org.
Use only alphanumeric values and hyphens (-). Spaces and other characters are not permitted.
Do not begin or end with a hyphen (-).
The Install Complete window opens.
19. Click Done to exit the install wizard.
Installing Fabric Manager client only (for Solaris)
NOTE: Before installing, ensure that all NFS mount points are up. Fabric Manager uses the df -k
command to check disk space. If the NFS mount points are down, the df command can take a long time
to respond and the Fabric Manager installation may stop responding.
To install the Fabric Manager client:
1. Click install.bin from the File Manager window that opens when you insert the Fabric Manager
Installation CD-ROM.
2. Double-click the Install icon.
The Get User Input window opens.
3. Click Yes if you have a previous version of Fabric Manager installed; otherwise, click No and then click
Next.
If you selected Yes:
a. Select whether you have client, server, or both installed and then click Next.
b. Identify the location where the previous Fabric Manager client is installed and then click Next.
c. Identify the location where the previous Fabric Manager server is installed and then click Next.
The install wizard provides you the choice of migrating your existing database or removing it.
d. Click Yes if you want to update to the new database and save your existing data, or click No to
remove your current data and create the new database.
e. Click Next.
4. Select the version you would like to install (Full or Evaluation) and then click Next.
A valid serial number and license key are required to install the full version of Fabric Manager. You
cannot continue installing the full version without a valid serial number and license key.
5. Evaluation version only: Accept the license agreement.
6. Full install only: Enter a valid serial number and license key and then click Next.
7. Click the Client icon and then click Next.
The Introduction window opens.
8. Read the introduction and then click Next.
9. Use the default location or click Choose to select a new folder. The default is /opt/FabricManager.
