ID menu
The ID menu (Figure 8) provides four different identifiers you can use to view SAN elements (name, IP
address, domain ID, or WWN). Select the identifier that you want Fabric Manager to use as it displays
each element.
Figure 8 ID menu
SAN elements tab
The SAN Elements tab is the main navigational area and is used to quickly navigate through fabrics (see
Figure 9).
Figure 9 SAN elements tab
The SAN Elements tab displays the various elements that you monitor with Fabric Manager. When you use
Fabric Manager, you repeatedly select items from the SAN Elements tab to configure and monitor.
Whenever a SAN element changes physical status, the background of its corresponding icon in the SAN
Elements tab changes color; the background colors of the parent element icons also change. Port status,
however, does not affect the background color of switch icons. If the background of an element in your
SAN Elements tab changes color, the change does not necessarily represent the failure of an entire fabric
or switch. Expand the fabric tree to identify the source of the status change. See ”Status indicators” on
page 46 for a description of the color coding.
Filter tab
The Filter tab (shown in Figure 10) lets you view elements that include a particular alphanumeric string. For
example, if you name all of the switches for your Accounting team acctx, where x is a number, you can
view the accounting switches only by selecting Name from the drop-down menu, entering acct in the text
field, and clicking Enter.
Use the ID menu to set how you want to
view SAN elements.
The SAN Elements tab is part of the fabric tree and lets you
navigate between elements in the fabric.
