Switch serial number and corresponding bar code from the serial number label. This label is
located on the various switches as follows:
1 GB Switches: Nonport side of the chassis
2Gb and 4Gb SAN Switches: Bottom of the chassis with the exception of the 4/32, which is
on the pullout tab.
Core and SAN Director switches: Inside front of the chassis
World wide name (WWN)
For the SAN Switch 2/8V, 2/16V, 2/32, SAN Switch 4/8, 4/16, 4/32, Core Switch 2/64,
and SAN Director 2/128: Provide the license ID. Use the licenseIDShow command to
display the license ID.
For all other HP StorageWorks switches: Provide the switch WWN. Use the wwn command to
display the switch WWN.
OS requirements
Table 3 summarizes the versions of HP software supported in this release. These are the earliest
software versions that interoperate. HP recommends that you use the latest software versions to get
the greatest benefit from your SAN.
