Benefits
ACC Release B.03.01 is a major release. It is the first release that
runs on HP-UX 11.00, supporting both 32/64-bit modes of HP-UX
11.00. This release supports 64-bit and multi-threaded application
development. This provides the foundation for improving the
capacity and performance of today’s enterprise networking
application systems. Together with the ACC X.25/9000 Link
Software product, the new STREAMS-Based X.25/9000 product
may run on top of the ACC X.25 subsystem using ACC interface
cards.
This release of ACC software also incorporates the corrections for
many known problems in the earlier ACC releases (B.02.xx), plus
some enhancements in various areas. The major changes and new
functionalities are summarized below.
Summary of New Features and
Enhancements
• The ACC products are now distributed on the HP-UX
Applications CD-ROM. The product structure has also been
re-organized to simplify product ordering and installation.
• All the ACC products (software, firmware and hardware) have
been verified to be Year-2000-compliant.
• The ACC products can run on both 32/64-bit versions of HP-UX
11.00. The ACC products also support 32/64-bit application
development. With very few exceptions, the APIs and utilities
are unaffected in their functionality. Any differences are noted
further down in this document.
• Extensive changes have been made in the ACC data structures
to support 32/64-bit operations. These changes have been
carefully designed to be 32/64-bit neutral so as to minimize the
impact to existing applications and the effort in developing
64-bit clean applications.
