Known Problems and Workarounds for X.25/9000 Products

This is not an error. It is a message for your information. The

installation will succeed.

• To configure remote system access, the “Subnetwork Mask”

option on SAM’s “Configure Internet Address” window must be

set to “Yes” and the “Subnet Mask” field must be completed.

• To successfully regenerate the kernel, you must always have a

session opened on the LOCAL console. This is true for systems

with ASCII or graphical consoles.

• If either of the following is true,

• IP over X.25 is in use and you conﬁgured remote access to

an IP host through a PVC to change the PVC number,

• IP over X.25 is conﬁgured using SVC and you reconﬁgure IP

over X.25 to use PVC,

then re-initialize the IP address to X.121 mapping until the

re-initialization succeeds using the following command:

x25init -a /etc/x25/ip_to_x121_map:

The re-initialization may fail for a duration equal to the IP

over X.25 Hold timer parameter.

• Patch PHNE_16283 is required for running IP over X.25 or

using multi-threaded applications.
