Installation Steps
Transceiver Installation Note
If the software (OS) version currently running in your switch is earlier than
the version listed in the above chart for the transceiver you are installing,
refer to the appropriate software update instructions before you continue
in this section.
■ To update a Switch 2000A (HP J3100A) or Switch 2000B (HP
J3100B), refer to page 9.
■ To update a Switch 800T, refer to page 12.
■ To update a Switch 208T or 224T (with a Switch 208T/224T Manage-
ment Module installed), refer to page 14.

*To identify the OS version on your switch: Run the switch console interface, select
“Statistics” or “Status and Counters” from the Main menu, and then select “Switch
Information” from the Statistics or Status and Counters menu.
**The Switch 208/224 OS upgrade requires prior installation of the Switch 208/224 Manage-
ment Module in the Switch 208T or 224T. If the Management Module is not installed, the
transceiver operates in the default 100Mbps, half-duplex mode only.
