Parameter
packetnum: Specifies the maximum transmission speed of the port, ranging from
1 to 255. (It is a counter without unit.) By default, the value is 3.
Description
Using the stp transit-limit command, you can configure a limit to the
transmission speed of the current Ethernet port. Using the
undo stp
transit-limit
command, you can restore the default speed limit.
You can use this command to set a limit to the transmission speed of the current
Ethernet port. The greater the speed is, the more the packets can be transmitted
in the unit time. However, if the value is set too large, it will occupy excessive
switch resources.
Example
Set a limit of 5 to the transmission speed of Ethernet1/0/1.
[SW7700-Ethernet1/0/1]stp transit-limit 5
MSTP Configuration
Commands
This section describes how to use the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP)
configuration commands on your Switch 7700.
Cisco products adopt private key to encrypt the configuration digest of MSTP,
therefore the link between Cisco products and the Switch 7700 defaults to RSTP.

Parameter
None
Description
Use the active region-configuration command to activate the configurations
of MST region.
This command is used for manually activate the configurations of MST region.
Configuring the related parameters, especially the VLAN mapping table, of the
MST region, will lead to the recalculation of spanning tree and network topology
flapping. To bate such flapping, MSTP applies the configured parameters and
launches recalculation of the spanning tree only when you activate the configured
MST region parameters or enable MSTP.
After you have entered this command, MSTP will apply the MST region parameters
that you configured to the system and recalculate the spanning tree.
