Front cage
c3000 enclosure front cage
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server blades or workstation blades (on page 30).
2. Power down the storage blades, if applicable ("Storage and other partner blade power" on page 31).
3. Power down the enclosure ("Powering down the enclosure" on page 31).
4. Remove all half-height and full-height blades ("Half-height or full-height blade" on page 34).
5. Remove the Onboard Administrator tray assembly (on page 36) or the DDR2 Onboard Administrator
module (on page 37).
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury or equipment damage, at least two people are
needed to safely move the enclosure or the front cage.
6. Remove the front cage:
a. Loosen the four thumbscrews inside the front cage assembly.
b. Use the handles on the top of the enclosure to extend the front cage until it hits the safety stops.
c. Grasp the handholds on the sides of the enclosure. The release levers are located inside the
handholds.
