CAUTION: When removing the front cage, the connectors on the midplane assembly are
susceptible to damage. Use caution to avoid damage to the pins and connectors.
d. Extend and remove the front cage from the enclosure.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Media board assembly with cable (PATA DVD drive
model)
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server blades or workstation blades (on page 30).
2. Power down the storage blades, if applicable ("Storage and other partner blade power" on page 31).
3. Power down the enclosure ("Powering down the enclosure" on page 31).
4. Remove all half-height and full-height blades ("Half-height or full-height blade" on page 34).
5. Remove the Onboard Administrator tray assembly (on page 36) or the DDR2 Onboard Administrator
module (on page 37).
6. Remove the CD/DVD-ROM drive ("PATA CD/DVD-ROM drive" on page 31).
7. Remove the front cage ("Front cage" on page 43).
8. Disconnect the media board assembly cable from the midplane.
9. Remove the T-15 Torx screw securing the media board assembly cable.
