Remove the midplane assembly from the front cage.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
After replacing the midplane assembly, complete the following procedure:
IMPORTANT: The following procedure requires Onboard Administrator Firmware Version 2.51
or later.
IMPORTANT: Be sure that all interconnect modules are removed before reprogramming the
serial number.
1. Log in to the CLI.
2. Enter the SET ENCLOSURE SERIAL_NUMBER X command, where X represents the 10-digit enclosure
serial number.
3. Enter the SET ENCLOSURE PART_NUMBER X command, where X represents the enclosure part
number.
Failure to complete this procedure can cause inaccurate or incomplete information to display in HP SIM and
Onboard Administrator.

Bezel ear handle (c3000 enclosure)
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server blades or workstation blades (on page 30).
2. Power down the storage blades, if applicable ("Storage and other partner blade power" on page 31).
3. Power down the enclosure ("Powering down the enclosure" on page 31).
4. Remove all half-height and full-height blades ("Half-height or full-height blade" on page 34).
5. Remove the Onboard Administrator tray assembly (on page 36) or the DDR2 Onboard Administrator
module (on page 37).
