Dialogs and Prompts During Windows Installation
• When prompted whether to run the program from its current location or download to disk, select Run
this program from its current location (the CD) and click OK.
• If you receive a Security Warning asking whether you want to install and run SETUP.EXE from the
CD, click Yes.
• You will receive a prompt to select Local Install Only, Multiple System Install, or Custom Install.
Select Local Install Only and click Next, then read and accept the License Agreement.
1. Selecting Local Install Only automatically selects your local system and installs all ISM components.
2. Multiple System Install is not supported. Custom Install is available to allow the OFU component to be
installed independently of other ISM features.
• Locate and select the management station in the list.
• Installation automatically reboots the local system unless you choose to stop it.
• When installation is complete, view logfile.log in the installation directory of each system to verify that
ISM installed correctly. The default installation directory for Windows is
Program/Files/intel/ServerManagement, however, you could have specified a different directory during
installation.
Installation of ISM for Managed Linux Servers
The HP Server cc3310 Information Diagnostics and Utilities Resource CD contains a script that implements
ISM installation. This script first installs Netscape and Acrobat® Reader if they are not already present.
Subsequent installations of ISM/TAM will not require reinstallation of Netscape and Acrobat Reader.
The script then proceeds to remove various drivers, and reinstalls the appropriate driver updates, which
requires user interaction. After the drivers have been updated, the script installs the required components
for ISM and TAM. During execution of this script, license agreements will be presented for your approval.
The following is a step-by-step procedure for installing ISM and TAM using this script.
1. Insert the HP Server cc3310 Information Diagnostics and Utilities Resource CD into CD-ROM Drive.
2. The Resource CD may auto-mount. If it does not auto-mount, click on the desktop CD Icon, and mount
the CD. Open a Linux window and change directories to /mnt/cdrom, then execute autorun by entering
“./autorun”.
NOTE If this is the first attempt to use the Resource CD with the LINUX operating system, the
/autorun script will first install Netscape and Acrobat Reader (as needed).
3. If Netscape is not installed on your server, you will be prompted with “Do you want to install Netscape
(y/n)?” Enter y.
4. Accept the license agreement for Acrobat Reader. (You will need Acrobat Reader as all documentation on
the Resource CD is in .pdf format.)
5. When prompted, press enter to continue.
6. Accept the license agreement for Netscape.
7. The main display menu for the Resource CD content will be displayed. Click on the tab labeled
Management SW.
