Intel Server Management (ISM) Installation and User's Guide
Intel Server Management (ISM) Concepts
Uninstalling ISM
Uninstalling ISM from Windows Systems
To uninstall ISM itself or components of ISM, run the uninstall.exe file that is installed with the system.
You can also select ISM Full Uninstall from the Windows Start menu or use the Add/Remove Programs
utility in the Control Panel. You can uninstall ISM from Windows servers either locally (one at a time) or
remotely from a Windows console system. Always reboot your system after uninstalling any ISM
component.
Uninstalling ISM from Managed Linux Servers
You must uninstall ISM locally from each Linux system. To do so:
1. Log in as root.
2. Enter a series of commands as listed below to remove installed packages. After each command, you will
receive a prompt to reboot the system. You need not reboot until after all the packages are removed:
rpm –e ism
rpm –e ipmidrvr
rpm –e dmi2snmp
rpm –e dmisp
rpm –e ucd-snmp-utils
rpm –e ucd-snmp
3. After the final command above, you may receive some error messages, which can be ignored.
4. Reboot the system.
5. The commands above remove the specific SNMP packages used by ISM. If you want to use SNMP for
other purposes, reinstall it from the Linux CD.
Installing the One-Boot Flash Update Utility
This section describes the installation procedure for the One-Boot Flash Update utility, which is described in
One-Boot Flash Update Utility on page 94.
Windows Installation
To install the One-Boot Flash Update utility on a Windows system, select the checkbox on the Custom
Install screen of the Windows installation program during ISM installation, as described in Installation for
Windows Consoles and Managed Windows Servers on page 14.
NOTE To run the One-Boot Flash Update utility, the working directory must first be set to the
directory in which the utility is installed. This is required because the utility depends on files
which are expected to be in the working directory. For normal installation, the One-Boot
Flash Update utility should be installed in:
C:\Program Files\Intel\ServerManagement\bin\flashupdt
