HP ProLiant DL16x Server Cable Management Bracket Installation Guide (498442-doc)
2.1.2 Installing the 5.0 Inch Strap
To install the five inch strap, use the following procedure:
1. Verify that the cables are square and level with the ports, with no strain on the connector.
This step is important to prevent possible electromagnetic interference, which can leak past
the EMI seals if the port and connector are not correctly aligned and secured.
2. Clip the five inch strap to the mounting hole (see callout 1 in Figure 2-3) on the cable
management bracket.

The vertical routing of the cable bundle depends on the HP Cluster Platform configuration. HP
recommends using the second cable routing example (see Figure 2-5) when the majority of the
server's power supplies are on the left side of the server (when looking at the rear of the server)
and the power strips are mounted on the left side on the 10K rack instead of the right. Regardless,
the 5.0 inch strap provides the vertical routing and strain relief for the cables in the cabinet, as
shown in Figure 2-4 and Figure 2-5.
