1 Preparing for Installation
1.1 Audience
This guide is intended for HP service representatives and other persons trained to install hardware
options in HP 10000 Series Racks. Such persons are expected to understand the hazards of working
in this environment and to take suitable precautions to minimize danger to themselves and
others.

1.3 Kit Description
The cable management bracket described in this manual is designed to align and support cables
that lead from an HP ProCurve 3500 series switch to a leaf switch or spine interconnect. The
bracket provides strain relief, ensures the correct bend radius for the cables and provides cable
routing and cable management.
1.4 Kit Contents
The kit contains the following components:
• The cable management bracket shown in Figure 1-1.

The cable management bracket can be used in several models of the HP Cluster Platform
and might be adaptable for other cable management applications (consult your hardware
installation documentation). The following list describes the callouts shown in Figure 1-1:
1. Cable management bracket
2. The mounting face, which contains three mounting slots. Attach the 3.5 inch fabric
straps to this part of the bracket.
