1 Preparing for Installation

1.1 Audience

This document is intended for HP service representatives and other persons trained to install

hardware options in HP 10000 Series Racks. Such persons are expected to understand the hazards

of working in this environment and to take suitable precautions to minimize danger to themselves

and others.

1.3 Kit Description

The cable management bracket described in this document is designed to align and support

cables that lead from an HP ProCurve 6400cl switch to a leaf switch or spine interconnect. The

brackets provide strain relief, ensure the correct bend radius for the cables, and provide cable

routing and cable management.

1.4 Kit Contents

The kit contains the following components:

• Two cable management brackets as shown in Figure 1-1 (the same bracket is used in the

front and rear):

The cable management bracket can be used in several models of the HP Cluster Platform

and might be adaptable for other cable management applications (consult your hardware

installation documentation). There are two of the same brackets included in this kit. One

bracket is for the front of the HP ProCurve 6400cl switch, and the second bracket is for the

cl module in the rear of the switch. Both of the brackets are mounted on the front and rear
