Components Required
The tables in this appendix specify the quantities of components that are required
to build a cluster, depending on the number of nodes and the bandwidth. Each
table is preceded by a parts count for the parts quantities that do not vary.
The table headings provide the following information:
• IC – Interconnect, meaning the enclosure or chassis.
• Bounded IC – The number of bounded interconnect enclosures required.
• = nodes – The quantity of the component is equivalent to the number of nodes
in the interconnect.
• NLI – Node level interconnect.
• TLI – Top level interconnect.
• TP Midplane – Transpose midplane. (This item might be qualified by a footnote
that defines the type of midplane).
