HP Cluster Platform Server and Workstation Overview

3.4 HP ProLiant DL385 G1
The dual-processor, 2U HP ProLiant DL385 G1 server can be used as a control node, directing
the management and administrative functions, or as a utility node for any specific task, including
running applications. It supports up to two 2.6 GHz 1 MB L2 cache 1 GHz HyperTransport AMD
Opteron processors, 16 GB of PC3200 DDR SDRAM memory running at 400MHz, and three
full-length PCI-X slots, two at 100MHz and one at 133 MHz PCI-X. Each processor memory
controller is directly connected to two dedicated memory banks. A minimum of 1 GB of memory
is required for the first bank of each processor. Both processors must be populated with the same
DIMM types and sizes.
The server also has an integrated HP ProLiant Lights Out port to be connected to the console
network, six hot-pluggable hard disk drive bays, and dual embedded Gigabit Ethernet NICs,
one of which is connected to the administrative network.
The HP ProLiant DL385 G1 has the following features:
